Many milestones have been achieved at the Thunderbird Minerals Sand Project in recent months but one of our favourites was the opening of our Derby office by WA Premier Mark McGowan and Josie Farrer, Member for Kimberley.
More than 80 members of the Derby community joined Mr McGowan, Mrs Farrer and Sheffield Resources Managing Director Bruce McFadzean to formally open the office, which is the first point of contact for local stakeholders and plays a pivotal role in supporting Thunderbird, located midway between Derby and Broome.

Engaging the community
We were thrilled to update the Derby community on the development of Thunderbird at the Wharf Café Derby in July. The event was a great opportunity to join forces with Jane Edwards, Program Manager at Girls Academy Derby District High School; and Kay Few, Holy Rosary School Derby Parents & Friends (P&F) President and fundraise for their causes.
